Glorious has released the next must-have for keyboard enthusiasts: the GMMK 2 Keyboard. This pre-built model is equipped with 5-pin hot-swapping technology, making it the perfect foundation for customising and tailoring. The keycaps are doubleshot ABS, for enhanced durability and wear-resistant legends. Beneath the keys, this keyboard utilises Glorious’s Fox Linear Switches which balance speed and control. All with that satisfying “thonk”. Elevating the sleek aesthetic of the brush finish, anodised aluminium top frame, this keyboard has both per-key and side diffused RGB lighting. Toggle between eighteen pre-set effects or customise with Glorious CORE software.

Hot-swap and Customise

What elevates the Glorious GMMK 2 Keyboard is its hot-swapping technology. Utilising universal 5-pin sockets, this keyboard is compatible with all mainstream switches. The integrated plate holds them firmly in place, eliminating the need to solder as well as preventing dust from reaching the PCB. Both switches and keycaps are easily removed from the frame, using the included puller tools. As such, this keyboard can be customised with a blend of switches to meet your needs and feedback preferences.

Framework

Providing a durable and robust foundation, the Glorious GMMK 2 has an aluminium top frame with a polymer bottom. Overall, this provides a balanced weight that, combined with the rubberised feet, help to keep this keyboard standing firm in the heat of battle. The aluminium is CNC milled with an anodised finishe. The soft brush look creates a sleek aesthetic, with the crisp white colour scheme completing the look.

This is the full-size model of the Glorious GMMK 2. Using a clever hybrid design, this keyboard fits a full set of keys onto a compact frame that is only slightly bigger than a TKL keyboard. As a result, you save on desk space without having to sacrifice keys. Plus, the compact size is more ergonomic and comfortable over longer typing and gaming sessions as your hands have less distance to travel. Further promoting extended comfort, the frame is angled at 6° to alleviate wrist ache, with feet that can increase this to 11°.

Keycaps

For enhanced durability, the Glorious GMMK 2 has doubleshot ABS keycaps. This method of legend printing mould two layers of ABS plastic together for a seamless finish that resists the general wear and tear of use. This ensures your WASD keys will not be shiny at the end of a campaign. The top legends are clear, allowing any RGB lighting to shine through. Additional legends have been printed on the front faces, denoting extra functionality on those keys.

Arranged in a UK ISO layout, there are 100 keys on the full-size model and they use the standard OEM profile. This profile creates a nearly flat top, with the keys all pretty much level yet sporting a cylindrical bow to meet the curve of your fingers. This maximises grip as well as providing a natural typing position.

Finally, the Glorious GMMK 2 comes with a novelty ESC key, branded with the Glorious logo. This bright yellow keycap makes a bold addition to the keyboard and is easily installed thanks to the hot-swapping technology and included keycap puller.

Glorious Fox Switches

The Glorious GMMK 2 pre-built keyboard comes equipped with their Glorious Fox Linear Switches. With parts already lubricated, these switches have a smooth, linear feedback with no scratchiness or unwanted noises. Just the satisfying “thonk” of mechanical switches. They have a 2.2mm travel and require 40g of force to actuation, completely bottoming out at 60g. With lightweight operation, these switches are great for fast-paced gaming action and typing alike. Plus, you can tune their debouncing time via Glorious’ CORE software to truly elevate their split-second responsiveness. Perfect for competitive gaming.

RGB and Software

Completing the Glorious GMMK 2, this keyboard is equipped with both per-key and side diffused lighting. Each socket is equipped with north-facing LEDs that shine directly beneath the transparent legends, enhancing the captivating glow and readability. The side diffused LEDs shine onto your desk and reflect back for a soft, atmospheric aesthetic. Toggle through eighteen pre-set effects, or explore the full 16.8 million RGB spectrum and customise the lighting with Glorious CORE software.

Glorious CORE can also be used to map shortcuts and macros on your keys, increasing and fine-tuning the functionality of the Gloroius GMMK 2 to suit your needs. What’s more, whilst it was designed to be used with CORE, this keyboard can also be adjusted utilising the open-source firmware QMK.
